As in most racing games in Cruis’n USA you race down a one way street from start to finish. The courses are based vaguely on locations across the USA. Players can choose from seven different cars. Cruis’n USA features fourteen tracks to race on but only eleven are available unless you are using cheat codes.

Mario must travel through the sewers fighting crabs, turtles and other animals that have been mutated by the Ooze. Enemies must be hit from below to be flipped over and then kicked of the screen if an enemy is left upside down to long it will flip back over and be much faster. This is also the first game to introduce Luigi Mario’s brother and co worker.
