Ecco The Dolphin is a side scrolling game where the player takes on the role of none other than Ecco. The story begins with Ecco jumping out of the waters of his home bay with another dolphin. While in the air a waterspout forms and carries away all his family. After traveling into the past and visiting Atlantis Ecco finds that a weird alien race called the Vortex caused the waterspout. Eventually Ecco destroys the Vortex Queen and rescues his pod.
